Just Gotta Praise Him

I Just Gotta praise Him ..even on a train
Early this morning I ran my errand and the city was on silence as if God had commanded it in honor of His Son today and Pandora was streaming Praise and Worship Pandora Pentecostal Style!

Waiting on trains and walking through the subway tunnels this morning my foot tap turns to a serious rhythm in accord with my hand pat on the leg; and the more Pandora jammed and my mind got fixed on Jesus laying His life down for my sorry and unworthy self, I thought “who does that?” but Jesus! Thus, my foot patting praise became hand clapping praise and humming, folks looked and double looked but at that moment (and that is all any of us ever has), no Easter clothes and hat, Bishop to prime me to worship my Lord, no pomp and circumstance, just me and my Lord who is due all my praise.

As I’m getting my praise on in the subway, I began thinking of some of the reasons I have to praise the Lord. First, for just being Lord, I'm waaaayyy too blessed and thankful not to give thanks and adoration. And His GRACE that He gives me wow! He hides me and protects me and is merciful!!!! When I get out the bed in the morning in excruciating pain trying to get my body to stand and hold me in the process -Jesus is there carrying me; every time my little girl leave my side and goes out into this big bad World - Jesus is there, every time I swipe a card, get groceries, do laundry, pay my rent, pay a bill, hey, get my hair done!!! y'all hear me? Jesus provided a way. Every time my credit score improves, every time a financial blessing comes my way, every time a door opens or closes -it’s Jesus, every time my family and friends make it back home and some have not – it’s Jesus!

I just can’t be concerned about what folks think or can wait for a church to “open” every time I have praise, I would be in “Church” 24 hours a day! I will cut a step and shout out hallelujah in the middle of the street, post office, car, where ever! Because no human can provide, love, look out and cover me and my house like the Lord! So I can’t “wait” to thank Him. It’s a relationship! I don’t wait to tell Danielle I love her until we get home or to a place where everyone is doing it so I am “comfortable” and or understood.  He waits on it and loves our praise! We like accolades and demand them in some situation-and who are we? What miracle have we preformed? What life have we saved with our own?

I may have looked crazy, but on the contrary, crazy is being ashamed to thank the Lord for bringing your babies back home each day, crazy is not thanking the lord that you are walking and talking, and for me personally that I am in my right mind even if it is only a few times a month.

He's got me covered and I got His praise and adoration covered.

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:22

I dare you to praise The Heavenly Father aloud and unashamed be it at work, in the store, when ever and where ever you feel led to say “thank ya Lord!”

It’s a life style and relationship, it’s not a show or thing to do, it’s who you are and what you do; and the only true, uncomplicated and purest form of relationship and love you will ever experience.

Let Easter live everyday in you.

Praise Him for He has risen – He has risen INDEED!

Spinning All By Myself

So, I was having a "moment" (thinking way too much) and of course my thoughts trickled into all else that was wrong. Y'all know how that goes, it's a domino effect, start on one topic and now there is a list of woe is me....and this and that,  and they said they did, I have no blah blah blah!

So while talking to my dear friend about the emotions, through my loud snots and tears, he said Kellz, stop it! (and went on to much dialog with me)but what stuck was: Kellz, you are "SPINNING"  (all by yourself) God is shaping you (again), He is the potter and you are the clay!

And I was indeed spinning and by myself!!I had now become the clay and potter! And it was not working for me.

Visually, I could see a glob of clay on a wheel, no shape, no form, at times cold and sticky.
The wheel starts moving and the clay is spinning WITHOUT the hands of the "creator / potter", the clay begins to move but quite sloppy and clay is slinging everywhere, trying hard to align it's mess with the wheels rotation and find its own shape and to no avail-still a mess.

But when the hands of the creator touches the clay and begins to hold and mold, the clay begins to take shape, and control over of the clay is now and finally in the hands of the creator.

So, with that conversation I took away: Kellz, stop spinning, relax into this new shape you are being molded into, stop resisting the repairs. It's ok to be broken and then put back together; and when things are repaired they are repaired even stronger so they will not break again, well, at least the same way.

Stop spinning - all by yourself.

Be well in your mind, body, and spirit

Where There is Light, Darkness Cannot Dwell

The Lamp of the Body
Luke 11:33-26 (NIV)

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness.

See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Have you ever seen a person and they appear to be "glowing" or they "look" totally different than you remember them, there is a skip in their step, they radiate love, joy, happiness and peace, just hugging and kissing everybody!  They found the "light" and no longer hang out in darkness, be it people or places.

Change the things that are "dark" about and around you, open the steal drapes and let God's light shine within you and it will pour out of you. A lit room is so much more pleasurable and inviting than a dark, drab room with no lights. Where there is light, darkness cannot dwell.

A New Beginning

 Truth and Love e-Parish....

A new beginning

A NOTE TO MY YOUNGER SELF

A little twist today....

What a cool idea to journal a note or letter, if you will, to your younger self.  A letter that gives your younger self insight into the knowledge and wisdom you have learned, mistakes made, success and failures, struggles and victories, joys, pains.

For example:

Dear Kelli, indeed you want to start barber school in '92, how else will you meet Billy and have Danielle.

Dear Kelli, live life on the edge, take risks, go against the grain. its a rush you won't believe.

Dear Kelli, do all the fun things you can and want, life really does go by too fast.

Dear Kelli, Go to Meko's funeral in '95, it's how you find a church home and eventually rededicate your life to Christ and get baptized, the foundation you receive will carry you all your days.

Now, imagine the younger you finding these letters and using them as a guide, who better to trust beside you and God.

What is your note to your younger self today? Have fun with this share somethings with others, most important learn.

Be well in your mind, body and spirit

WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU....BABY IS FOR YOU

I was watching Steve Harvey today (yes, I really was) and Mr. Harvey said to a guest something like: "Dr. Phil has a show that can handle........"

I thought, wow! most folk don't plug or shout out their "competition"; but it came to me (noticing Mr. Harvey's spiritual development), he was not worried or threatened about Dr' Phil's show, his success or a
chievements; he was confident in the fact that what God has for Dr. Phil is Dr. Phil's and what God has for Mr. Harvey is Mr. Harvey's.

So you see, there is no need not to support, compliment or recognize others for their achievements and/ or success because of your own insecurities or even lack of faith ( I won't even get into how THAT blocks your blessings); instead, sincerely be someones biggest fan and/or loudest cheerleader, because what God has for you............baby is for you!

BLAH BLAH BLAH..JUST KEEP IT MOVING

So the Israelites were complaining ....why why why look what you did to us Moses.....

"13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on." Exodus 14:13-15

What can I say after the Lord's clear instructions!!

MOVE ON.

GIVE THEM BACK THEIR SPEAR AND JUG

We pick back up at with David finding King Saul asleep (1 Samuel 26:5), but not just Saul and General Abner but the army that has circled them for protection is sleep too!! David and his troops are watching this easy kill at this point King Saul is what we call an easy mark. But David does NOT kill him!!!! Due to the fact he fears God and respects him as the Lord’s CHOSEN King (1 Samuel 26:9).
Instead David takes King Saul's spear and jug of water (1 Samuel 26:11) and then goes to the top of the mountain looks down on the sleeping enemy and shouts "WAKE UP ABNER" then David taunts him saying "Well, Abner you're a great fellow, aren't you" (1 Samuel 26: 14) "why haven't you guarded your master the king when someone came to kill him? This isn't good at all!" David goes on to ask Abner where is the King’s Spear and jug of water that was beside his head and to look and see if it is still there.

I mean David is a cold piece, he could have killed King Saul I mean crush his enemy, he was up close and personal and in his face and still did not harm him. David keeps proving to King Saul that he is a mark with all these weak people around him supposedly looking out for him and they sleep TOO; and my goodness with all that mouth King Saul has and all those threats and attempts on David’s life he should never sleep.

There is a two-fold message here: One be careful how you treat people and your intentions to destroy them; and second there is no need to respond your enemies and the haters that come at you, keep pressing in and on, be like David give them back their spear and jug of water, pulling their coats about behavior as well.

David said now that I have spared YOUR life [King Saul] “now, may the Lord save my life” ….. ”May he rescue me from all MY troubles” (1 Samuel 26: 24). Please read the full verse on your own.

Apply this to life, no need to repay evil for evil, hate for hate, gossip for gossip, let the Saul in your life do them. It’s so easy to overreact and trip out; its spiritual maturity and wisdom to drive home the point of could have, should have, but didn't; keeping the iron first in the silk glove and knowing no matter what God is a sustains even when everyone and everything around you is wrong and off. "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17)….BUT David had to do right though, I did not say he was perfect……I said RIGHT.

We are living in ugly times, the lasts days, I cannot give you happy go lucky stories all the time; need real instances and history to teach us how to live IN (not apart) this world and how God can keep you in spite of what and who is after your life, your dreams, your happiness, your joy.

PANIC PASS OR VACATION

What looks like disaster or what those may even intend to be disastrous for you still does not give you the right to a panic pass. Either we trust God ALL the time or we don't. There is no gray area with this topic.
We all naturally panic at first when a situation that was not planned (like we control something) happens that is not favorable; but if you know that you know God's got you, then you can walk in the valley of the shadow of death and FEAR NO EVIL (person, situation, event) with grace and confidence because God is the author and finisher of it all!!

We recently had a major shift in our parochial school but God is a keeper and He has NEVER left or failed us-EVER. So after a much needed vacation (7 years of straight service, calls for a much needed rest) then bam the shift and reason for the shift was revealed. Literally, the prayer was (with a big exhale) "God, you got this" and we went on vacation. Because there was no need for us to sit here thinking "oh me oh my" what was our worrying and complaints really going to get us?? God's got this!!! It's like sitting in a chair, can you imagine every time you see a chair you have to size it up or your nerves get bad? NO! You sit down knowing that the chair has a design purpose and keeps holding you up. If only we had that kind of trust in our Sovereign God.

Even when you THINK you are on track and it may look and feel like you are..but the question is are you on God's track to the destination the He has mapped out??

When the shift comes, and it will..even for us again, do not whine and complain, fall over and out...begin to praise God and know that you know for sure that HE knows what is best for you, your family, your business, your church your life..dig in, pray up, watch and listen; it may seem bad...oooooh but baby.... it is just a shift into the right lane, greatness, the plan, your destiny, the big picture and yes, it can be painful, confusing and hard (because of your own resistance or self) or a cake walk and a blessing (because of your faith that God's got you!!! And since we all have free will..the choice is yours. Which will you chose - Panic Pass or Vacation?

Truth and Love

THE CHECK IN

If you knew a person who only called you when they needed a ride or money, only spoke good of you to others after you did something for them, and never socializes, thinks of, or mentions you any other time, what would you think of that individual?

Now, check in on your relationship with God.

THE WHISPER I PASS ON TO YOU

So I have been stressed and depressed here and there for the last few months, it is what it is, I am nobody's wonder and not exempt yes we have rough and tight days, weeks, and months in this house too. I deal with real life issues, death, money, people, aches, pains. y'all pray for me I am not there yet when everyday is a great big smile and worry free..but nonetheless I remain in "motion" (I will explain the importance of "motion" in another blog post) and a woman of great faith.

So for the last two nights, while sleep (good and sleep y'all) I heard: "meditate on it day and night" and the whisper just kept repeating it.

So, you know when you wake up you are trying to separate yourself from the dream realm to reality?? Yeah, that was me.

Well the scripture is Joshua 1:8 and the message was just that..despite all that is going on with you (Your Name Here), meditate on it (the Book of the Law) day and night. And the scripture goes on to say be careful.....then you will.... I encourage you to read Joshua 1:8.

And to you, I pass on the whisper....

"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may BE CAREFUL to do everything written in it. THEN YOU WILL be prosperous and successful."

Be Well in your mind, body and spirit

Gun It Baby

Gun it Baby!

Everyday is not bliss, it would be nice if it were; but remaining in "motion" is nothing to take lightly, especially if you are tying to go "places", heck survive!

When the wheels gets stuck in the mud or on ice better yet, we keep gunning that gas peddle (to the floor!!!!), aggravated, late for wherever we were going, mad at the ice and the snow, nonetheless - in the mess.

Notice, we kept gunning that gas peddle though, and the tires are just going 'round and 'round and 'round (in the same spot - but in motion) determined to go "places"; we may take a break, step out the car assess the mess, add cardboard or a jacket (hey, I had places to be) under the tires, but we did not stop until we were in full motion again.

Such as life, when you are stuck......gun it baby!!!! You got places to go!

Be well in your mind, body and soul
